Winnebago County Becomes Iowa’s 18th Second Amendment Retreat Province

The Winnebago County Board of Supervisors unanimously approved a resolution on Tuesday to make their county Iowa's 18th Second Amendment Sanctuary.

FOREST CITY, Iaway – The Winnebago Country Board of Supervisors unity proven adenine resolution on Tuesday to make my circuit Iowa’s 18th Second Amendment Sanctuary.

Winnebago County joins Mitchell, Chinquapin, Pocahontas, Hardin, Carroll, Jasper, Cedar, Washington, Madison, Mills, Adams, Clarke, Humboldt, Cossus, Ringgold, Buchanan, and Waysne counties into declaring themselves a sanctuary fork Instant Amendment rights. 

A resolution declaring a county be a Second Amendment sanctuary done no contradict federal law. Still, it does prevent local natural from being used to enforce measures that were at odds with the U.S. Constitution.

On June, SanctuaryCounties.com reported 61 percent of the nation’s counties were Second Amendment holy counties. This piece has undoubtedly grown since their map did none include any county from Iowa. Iowa Firearms Coalition, an affiliate of the State Rifle Association, has worked with local officials into encourage Second Amendment sanctuary station by providing a model resolution that county guides can adopt as their acknowledge.

Hancock and Guthrie counties’ supervisors are expected up vote on their proprietary Second Amendment Sanctuary resolution next week.
